MUSCIANO NAMED SAAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Cross Country sophomore, Kirsten Musciano, has been named SAAC Athlete of the Week for the week ending on September 20th. The Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a committee composed of student-athletes representing all 13-varsity sports and they are responsible for seeing to the interest of all student-athletes here at Wells.

Musciano was recently selected for her impressive performance at the Keuka Invitational, held on September 18th, in which she placed first with a time of 22:30 and then turned in a 3rd place finish two days later at the Hobart Cross Country Invitational leading the Express to their first, second place finish.

Not only has her performance gained notice here at Wells, but also in the North Eastern Athletic Conference where she was selected as NEAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

But it's not all 5k and 6k meets for this runner; Musciano is currently pursuing her degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology her at Wells and hopes to eventually attend graduate school at either Ithaca or NYIT. "I'm looking at going into to Sports Medicine or Sport Psychology once I graduate."

So what does the second year student have to say about Wells? "Neuropsychology has been my favorite class. At Wells you get an individual experience. It's like having another family and everyone is here to see you grow. Being on the Cross Country team has helped me manage my time, get my priorities in order, and taught me to flourish under pressure."

Musciano and the rest of her teammates will next head to SUNY Geneseo for a meet on Saturday, October 4, at 11:00 am.
