MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY TAKES 4TH, WOMEN FINISH 7TH AT OSWEGO INVITATIONAL

(Aurora, N.Y.)─   The Wells College men's cross country team placed fourth and the women's team finished seventh at the 20th Annual Oswego State Invitational held Saturday afternoon in Oswego, N.Y. Brayden Shumski led the men's team with a ninth place finish (29:29.44), while Stephanie Santamaria led the women's team with a 35th place finish (23:45.98).  

The men's team competed against 55 runners in the 8-kilometer Don Masterson Invitational, with Oswego State taking the team title with a score of 15. Sam share finished 30th with a time of 32:35.97. Brandon Johnston took 32nd with a time of 33:07.66. Kyle Brownell, in his first collegiate race, placed 36th with a time of 34:32.12. Van Bucsko finished 38th with a time of 34:36.49. Tony Petri placed 41st with a time of 34:45.07, while Tim Lambert (50th), Chris Mahar(53rd), and Jeremiah Miller(54th) round out the final group with times of 37:47.42, 40:44.88, and 47:37.60 respectively.  

The women's team competed against 77 runners in the 5-kilometer Pat Paterson Invitational, with Ithaca College taking first with a team score of 18. Brittany Dennee placed 62nd with a time of 26:56.25. Sarah Brenner finished just behind her teammate in 63rd with a time of 27:49.30. Tara Wild finished 74th with a time of 31:44.65. Sarah Deschenes placed 75th with a time of 31:59.03 and Elizabeth Raymond took 77th with a time of 39:55.76.  

The Express will next compete at the Hobart College Invitational on Saturday, September 18 at the Campus Course in Geneva, N.Y.
