WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY HAS STRONG SHOWING AT NCAA REGIONALS

CANTON, N.Y. - The Wells College women's cross country team sent three runners to the NCAA Atlantic Regional at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. Saturday afternoon. Emily Middlebrook (Newark, N.Y.), Lindsey Guzewicz (Auburn, N.Y.), and Brienne Goodson (Deansboro, N.Y.) all competed in the field of 256 runners.

Middlebrook placed 112th with a time of 24:38.5. Guzewicz placed 198th with crossing the finish line with a time of 26:36.2, and Brienne Goodson rounded out the trio in 223rd with a time of 27:33.3. The three competitors mark the first time in Wells history that the cross country program has competed in an NCAA regional event.

Stefanie Braun of Plattsburg State took home the individual championship with a time of 21:52.1, while host St. Lawrence University won the team championship with 77 total points, besting second place finisher SUNY Geneseo by 14 points.
