CROSS COUNTRY HEADED TO NCAA ATLANTIC REGIONAL

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College cross country program will be sending four runners to this weekend's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Atlantic Regional Championship at St. Lawrence University on Saturday afternoon in Canton, N.Y. Emily Middlebrook (Newark, N.Y.), Brienne Goodson (Deansboro, N.Y.), and Lindsey Guzewicz (Auburn, N.Y.) from the women's cross country team and Brayden Shumski (Everett, Wash.) from the men's cross country team will represent Wells at the regional championship that will feature over 200 of the best runners from the Atlantic Region. This is the first time in school history Wells College will be represented at the NCAA Atlantic Regional.

Middlebrook made it a clean sweep at the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship (NEAC), winning the individual championship by over 10-seconds finishing first with a time of 19:28.95, while also earning NEAC Runner of the Year, NEAC Rookie of the Year, and NEAC First Team All-Conference.

Guzewicz placed eighth at the NEAC Championship with a time 20:48.95 earning NEAC Second Team All-Conference, while Goodson placed 13th with a time of 21:21.56, earning her second career NEAC Second Team All-Conference selection.

Shumski led the Express to a sixth place finish at the NEAC Championship, earning NEAC First Team All-Conference accolades placing seventh overall out of 86 runners with a time of 28:27.40. Shumski has now earned an NEAC First Team All-Conference selection in each of his three years with the program.
