Wells Express at Seneca 7's
Geneva, NY- This past Saturday, four Wells cross country runners participated in the second annual Seneca 7 in Geneva, NY. Teams of seven runners tackled three legs each as they raced the 77.7 miles around Seneca Lake. Each runner will put a total of 9.5 – 14.3 miles by the end of their final leg. Veronica Frisenda, Bryant Sanders, Evando Nascimento and Brayden Shumski were a part of The Express and CO. Team #140. The Express & CO. started in the fourth and final wave of runners at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning. At 6:49 p.m. Runner #7, Brayden Shumski crossed the finish line with the entire team by his side. The Express and CO. finished the 77.7 miles in 9 hours and 19 minutes with an average mile pace of 7:11.
Teams from six states and Washington, DC competed in this year's Seneca 7. Racing against 154 teams in a field of over 1000 runners, The Express & CO. finished in 11th place!
