Lamanna Leads Women’s Cross Country At Oswego St.

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Junior Katie Lamanna (Constableville, N.Y.) placed first amongst all student-athletes from the Wells College women's cross country team as they finished 13th amongst a talented field at the 5K Oswego State Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. The Rochester Institute of Technology placed first with 28 points, followed by SUNY Cortland (54) and Ithaca (69).

Lamanna's time of 22:16.4 placed her 127th amongst the field of 189 cross country runners. She was followed by senior Anastasia Benson (Rockford, Ill.) in 158th place with a time of 23:55.3. Competing in her first race in nearly two years, junior Lindsey Guzewicz (Auburn, N.Y.) posted a time of 25:30.2.

Senior Veronica Frisenda (Patterson, Calif.), sophomore Bailey Brown (Marcy, N.Y.) and freshman Audrey Woolever (Owego, N.Y.) finished 179th, 180th and 181st, respectively, while first year runner Amanda Bottorff (Cicero, N.Y.) finished with a time of 28:21.1 to place 184th. Freshmen Afton Noha (Seneca Falls, N.Y.) and Katelyn Costello (Nunda, N.Y.) rounded out the field of runners from Wells.

The Express return to action Saturday, Sept. 13 as they participate in the Hobart Invitational at 11 a.m.
