Fastiggi Finishes Eighth At Cross Country Only Championship

GENEVA, N.Y. – Freshman Amanda Fastiggi (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) of the Wells College women's cross country team earned an eighth place finish as an individual at the Cross Country Only Championship on Saturday. Fastiggi and the Express placed 10th out of the 14 competing teams, drawing 257 points.

Fastiggi finished third out of the competing runners from the NEAC, posting a 20:23.7 time at the 5K course to finish eighth overall. Junior Deaven Theriault (Ludlow, Mass.) was 60th out of 121 entrants with a time of 23:13.7 while sophomore Shiori Hirayama (Hiroshima, Japan) was 68th with a time of 23:43.6.

Junior Bailey Brown (Marcy, N.Y.) crossed the finish line with a time of 24:07.1 while sophomore Amanda Bottorff (Cicero, N.Y.) rounded out the scorers with a time of 26:03.4. Sophomore Audrey Woolever (Owego, N.Y.) posted a 108th place finish (27:26.0) before senior Brittany Paul (Rochester, N.Y.) completed the course with a time of 34:14.7.

The Express return to action this Saturday, Oct. 31 at the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship meet, held at Jamesville Beach Park in Jamesville, N.Y.
