Women's Cross Country Runners Compete At Hamilton Invitational

Individual runners for the Wells College women's cross country team ran at the Hamilton College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 8. The five-kilometer race was contested at the Hamilton College Golf Course in Clinton, N.Y. and the race was run under windy, rainy conditions.

Four runners completed the race for Wells, led by Amanda Fastiggi, who placed in the top half of all competitors in 59th place with a time of 21 minutes, 16 seconds. Deaven Theriault was the next-best finisher for Wells with a time of 22:34.

Jenn VanWormer broke the 25-minute mark in 24:48 and Rutsuko Ueda was the fourth Express runner across the line, in 26:04.

A total of 126 runners were timed in the race.

Wells will next compete Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Cross Country Only Conference Championships hosted by Hobart and William Smith Colleges at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva, N.Y.
