Women's Cross Country Opens Season At LeMoyne
The Wells College women's cross country team competed for the first time in the 2017 season at the LeMoyne College Short-Course Invitational in Syracuse, N.Y. on Saturday, Sept. 2. Wells placed six in a field of six teams over a 4-kilometer course that included 49 runners.
Amanda Fastiggi, a two-time All-North Eastern Athletic Conference runner, was the top finisher for the Express with a time of 20 minutes, 40 seconds and she scored 22 team points. A pack of three Wells runners finished together, each in their varsity debut, as Nana Ogata timed in at 23:38, Miranda Mingen finished in 23:47, and Kaylen Furr finished in 23:53. Aala Al-Hashimi competed in her first race and timed in at 31:51.
The Express roster consists of six runners under head coach Dr. Jack Daniels, and will return to action Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Morrisville State Invitational.
