Cobb Named Cross Country Coach

Wells College Athletic Director Mike Lindberg announced Ross Cobb as the college's new cross country coach.

"I am very pleased to announce that Ross Cobb will be the next head coach for the Wells College's women's and men's cross country teams. As a former member of the Wells cross country team and protégé of U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame Coach Jack Daniels, Ross will provide our student athletes with an excellent foundation of challenge and support to achieve personal bests as students and distance runners," Lindberg said.

Cobb brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program as a former Wells College cross country student-athlete and a high school cross country state champion from Vermont.

"I would like thank Provost Speaker and Athletic Director Lindberg for the opportunity to serve the student athletes at Wells College as the next head coach for the women's and men's  cross country program," Cobb stated.

"I fell in love with the Wells College cross country program as a student-athlete and I am honored to carry on the teachings I learned under Dr. Jack Daniels here at Wells," Cobb added.

Cobb is part of the Wells College Information Technology department staff and also serves in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He mentors other Marines as well as Express students in the I.T. work-study program.

The former Wells College cross country captain was extremely active as a student and served in capacities that included: class vice-president, information technology committee, student athlete advisory committee and orientation leader for incoming students.
