Men's Volleyball: "On This Day" 3-28-19

"On This Day" is a Wells College Athletics feature designed to look back over the past three seasons when most of our 2020 seniors began play for the Express and what highlights happened to Wells' spring teams on this day on March 28

Men's Volleyball: March 28, 2019

The Wells College men's volleyball team picked up its 20th win of the season on Thursday, March 28 when the Express defeated Keuka College in three sets. Wells won by set scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-18 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference meeting at the Schwartz Athletic Center.

 It's the second year in a row that Wells has reached the 20-win mark. The Express won 21 matches in 2018, setting program records for total wins and winning percentage.

Wells hit .556 in the opening set with 17 kills and two errors, including eight kills in 11 attacks for Caden O'Loughlin in the first set. Joe Zimmerman added five first-set kills. The Express had a .423 hitting percentage in the second set with 13 kills and two errors. Wells finished the match with a .383 hitting percentage on 40 kills against nine errors.

O'Loughlin had 11 kills and a .526 hitting percentage. Zimmerman had 10 kills and a .571 hitting percentage. Josh Undari had 23 assists. Zimmerman led Wells with seven digs, and had a solo block.
