Senior Spotlight: Nathan Ramsey

Senior Spotlight: Nathan Ramsey

With the cancellation of the remainder of the spring season and the winter championships, at least one Wells College senior spring student-athlete will be highlighted each weekend. Today's featured student-athlete is senior Nathan Ramsey from the men's lacrosse team.

Nathan is a psychology major from Phelps, N.Y. who plays attack for the Express.

Wells men's lacrosse coach Andrew Daly had the following to say about Nathan, "Since he joined the team last spring, he was an instant leader. Nathan was always receptive to coaching and sought out how he could get better. He was our 2019 team MVP, after playing all over the field in an effort to battle in every game we played until the very end."

Over Nathan's career at Wells, he appeared in 16 games and started 13 while accumulating 32 goals and 15 assists for 47 points from 131 attempted shots with nearly 60 percent of those finding the net. Nathan also gathered 44 groundballs, and recorded seven caused turnovers.

During the shortened 2020 season, Nathan started both games the team played and compiled three goals and an assist for four points from eight shots with 75 percent of those finding the net. Nathan also registered four groundballs while averaging two points-per-game.

Why did you choose Wells College?

I enjoy the small classes, beautiful campus, and my brother Aaron also goes here.

What is your favorite memory at Wells College as a student-athlete?

Post-game bus rides for sure. Eating pizza and talking about the game or really anything with the boys.

What are your plans after Wells College?

I will be attending SUNY Buffalo for graduate school.

What advice would you give to the next person wearing your number?

As in wearing any uniform, wear it with pride and know that you represent more than just yourself. You represent your team, your community and the sport of lacrosse.

If you had a favorite class during your time at Wells College, what was it and why was it your favorite?

Neuropsychology. I was previously a biology major so being able to link biology with psychology was very interesting.

What will you miss the most about being a student-athlete at Wells College?

All of my teammates. Transferring in, I was immediately welcomed by everyone and over the past two years we grew together as a team.
