Wells Express Athletes of The Week 4/27

Congratulations to this week's Athletes of the Week Kayla Rowell and Aaron Izquierdo!

Kayla Rowell was selected this week based on her performance last week against SUNY Morrisville. The Express as a whole struggled offensively that game but Rowell was able to score 2 goals and grab a ground ball. For the season, Kayla had 6 goals and 1 assist. She was nominated by her head coach Vic Goeller. Kayla is in her senior year and comes to Wells College from Syracuse, NY. Rowell plays field hockey for the Express as well. This is her first-time winning Athlete of the Week! 

Aaron Izquierdo was selected this week based on his performance last week in 4 games for the Express baseball team. One game against Elmira College and a 3 game series against Lancaster Bible. Over that span, Aaron went 7-15 from the plate with 4RBIs, 3 stolen bases, and scored 4 runs. He also hit his first home run of the season! Aaron was nominated by his head coach Ryan Stevens. This is Aarons's sophomore year at Wells College and he hails from Palisades Park, NJ. This is his first time winning Athlete of the Week!
