Behrend Volleyball Set to Compete at Wells Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team will travel to Aurora, NY for the two-day Wells Tournament on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

Weekend Schedule:

Friday
8 p.m. – Behrend vs. Lebanon Valley

Saturday

2 p.m. – Behrend vs. Keuka
4 p.m. – Behrend at Wells

Behrend News & Notes:

* Last time out, the Lions fell in five sets to Fredonia on the road Wednesday night
* The loss marked the second 3-2 setback this season
* Sophomore defensive specialist Cara Zollars (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) recorded a career-high 24 digs vs. the Blue Devils
* Sophomore outside hitter Kristin Reiland (Fairview, PA/Villa Maria Academy) tallied 11 kills, eight digs and four aces
* Reiland has registered double-digit kills in five out of eight matches
* Behrend is looking for its first win since a 3-0 win over SUNY Poly on Aug. 31

Meet the Opposition:

* Wells will host their first home matches this weekend
* The Express enter this weekend with a 1-7 record, defeating Medaille 3-1 on Sept. 1
* Lebanon Valley is also coming off a five-set loss in its recent match, falling to Arcadia
* The Flying Dutchwomen are 3-4 on the season and are coached by Wayne Perry in his 33rd season
* Keuka is currently 3-5 overall and are looking to bounce back from a three-match losing skid
* The Wolves swept AMCC opponents Hilbert and Pitt-Greensburg this season
