All-Region Honors For Baseball's Dylan Nolan

All-Region Honors For Baseball's Dylan Nolan

Wells College baseball catcher Dylan Nolan earned all-region recognition by the American Baseball Coaches Association for the 2019 season. Nolan is the first player in the three-year existence of the Wells baseball varsity program to earn all-region honors.

Nolan made a huge impact on a record-setting Wells team for the 2019 season, and he was named to the ABCA Division III New York Region Second Team. Nolan ranked in the top-30 among all NCAA Division III players in three major offensive categories. Nolan was ninth in batting average (.452), 17th in slugging percentage (.742), and 30th in on-base percentage (.517). He was the team's starting catcher for the third year in a row. Nolan reached the 100 career hits milestone earlier this season and hit safely in 26 of 30 games on the year.

Earlier this spring Nolan was named the NEAC First Team. It was the third year in a row that Nolan has earned all-conference honors as he was a second-team honoree in 2017 and 2018. During the regular season Nolan ranked third in the NEAC in slugging percentage and batting average, 10th in hits, and 12th in RBIs.

Nolan helped Wells to the best season in the three-year history of the program. Wells established program bests for single-season wins (18) and wins within NEAC play (9). The Express won two postseason games in the NEAC Championship tournament and finished third in the playoffs.

The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. The NCAA Division III committee is comprised of eight coaches representing each region across the nation.

The ABCA, founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 11,000 members represent all 50 states and 25 countries.
