Kemp Named NEAC Pitcher of the Week

Wells College baseball player Zach Kemp was named the North Eastern Athletic Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his efforts last week in Florida.

The Express captain extended the team's win streak to three games in a defensive showdown against Vassar College, who entered the contest with four wins in their last five starts.

The March 10 game played in Orlando, Fla. was Kemp's only start of the team's Florida trip and the senior Wells hurler threw seven innings of shutout ball for his initial win of the season.

Kemp came within one strikeout of matching the school record for strikeouts in a single game after turning aside 13 batters. Overall, he faced 28 batters, walked two and allowed five hits in a 3-0 victory.
