Wells Field Hockey Defeated By Wooster

The Wells College field hockey team played its 2018 home opener on Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Wells Turf Field. The College of Wooster won by a 14-1 score over the Express.

Wells College goalkeeper Allison Solomon made 33 saves. Ivy Cromp and Danielle Radivoy had defensive saves for the Express. Solomon has totaled 62 saves through the first two games of the year.

Wells College scored its goal from a penalty corner. Whitney Coleman inserted from the end line, where Chloe Marcus collected the ball on the left side of the circle. Her hard shot through traffic found the back of the net. It was the first goal of the year for Marcus and the first assist of the year for Coleman.

Wooster scored seven times in each half and totaled 56 shots and 19 penalty corners.

Wells is 0-2 on the season and Wooster is 1-0. Wells returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 4 at Houghton College at 4 p.m.
