Field Hockey Team’s Offense Continues to Improve

The Wells College field hockey team took to the road over the weekend and after coming within striking distance against Sweet Briar the night before, the Express dropped to the Centenary Cyclones of New Jersey.

Two road games in two nights may have taken its toll on the Express as it fell to the Cyclones by 12-1. But if there was a silver lining, the team's offense has generated some quality scoring chances in those last two games.

Whitney Coleman continued her scoring surge with goals now in the past two contests. Against Centenary, Coleman and Hannah Koerner each recorded a pair of shots on net to lead the team up front.

On the back end, Sabrina Burns turned aside 15 shots in defeat as she is just one of two North Eastern Athletic Conference goalkeepers to record 100 saves or more on the season thus far.

The team gets just one day off before travelling to the University of Rochester on Tuesday, Oct. 15 for a 6 p.m. start. The game will be live-streamed at: https://uofrathletics.com/watch/?Live=791&type=Live
