Field Hockey Team Completes Three Games in Four Days

The Wells College field hockey team completed the toughest part of its schedule from a participation perspective on Tuesday, Oct 15 in Rochester. The Express finished a grueling three games in four days with each game on the road. The journey took Wells through three states beginning with its Saturday game in Sweet Briar, Virginia. The team then traveled to Hackettstown, N.J. on Saturday before finishing in Rochester Tuesday.

In all three road games, Wells played its best coming out of the half with each game played even in the third quarter. Against Rochester, the entire second half was a one-goal affair. Unfortunately, the dozen goals the Yellow Jackets accumulated in the first half proved to be to much for Wells to overcome in a 13-0 defeat.

It was the first of the last three road games that an opposing team kept Wells off the board. Offensively, Abigail Gilson and Whitney Coleman provided the best offensive opportunities with Coleman's two-game goal-scoring streak coming to an end.

Defensively, Sabrina Burns recorded 11 saves in the Wells net and had some help from Danielle Radivoy, who recorded a defensive save in the contest.

Wells will return home to Aurora for a much-needed rest before embarking on another road game this weekend at Keuka on Saturday, Oct. 19 with a 3:30 p.m. start.
