STRONG SECOND HALF LEADS WELLS OVER HAMILTON

Aurora, NY– Senior's Juan Pualino (Bronx, N.Y.) and Darrell Bullock (Chicago, IL) each had 14 second half points as the Wells College men's basketball team rolled to a 70-60 victory over the visiting Hamilton College Continentals on Saturday afternoon at Wells. Paulino finished with 18 points and 18 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season, while Bullock finished with a team high 19 points to lead the Express. Pat Sullivan (Madison, N.J.) had a game high 23 points for the Continentals who fell to 2-1 on the season. With the victory the Express improve to 3-2 on the year.

Down 29-26 entering the second half, the Express would claw back to take a two point lead on a jumper by Bullock, sparking a 7-0 run that would give the Express a 41-34 lead they would never relinquish at 14:58.

Hamilton would rally back to within one point, 43-42, at 11:32, but freshmen Matt Duffy (Huntington, N.Y.) answered with a three-pointer and a lay-up by Greg Jones (Alexandria, VA) extended the Express lead to six with 8:03 remaining.

It wasn't until late in the second half that the Express would take over, going on 14-5 run, capped by a three-pointer by Rionn Pradia (Houston, TX) and a pair of free-throws by Duffy, giving Wells a commanding 66-55 lead with 51 seconds remaining.

Pradia finished with 13 points while Jones finished with nine points, seven rebounds, and a team high four assists. The Express shot 43 percent (24-56) from the floor, 24 percent from behind the arc (6-25), and 64 percent from the line (16-25) while holding a 39-33 advantage on the glass, including 18 offensive rebounds.  The Express also finished with a season high nine steals.

The Express will next play against Hilbert College on Monday, November 30th at 7:00 pm at Wells.
