EXPRESS OUTPLAY MUSTANGS EN ROUTE TO 23-POINT VICTORY

(Aurora, N.Y.)─ The Wells College men's basketball team rolled to an 80-57 victory over North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Morrisville State Tuesday evening in Aurora. Terry Harrison (Brooklyn, N.Y./Forest Hills) paced the Express with 22 points and 16 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Kyle Gordon (Riverhead, N.Y./Riverhead) led the Mustangs with 14 points and nine rebounds. With the victory Wells improves to 1-3 (1-0 NEAC), while Morrisville falls to 1-3 (0-1 NEAC).

Mabior Mayen (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) notched his third straight double-double with ten points and ten rebounds, while Ronald Teekasingh (Binghamton, N.Y./Johnson City) added 15 points to round-out the scoring for the Express.

Wells finished 39.4 percent from the floor, including 7 of 21 from behind the arc. The Mustangs made just 10 buckets in the second half as they would finish 34.8 percent from the field.

The two teams came out flying in the first half, playing a high tempo style offense that made the shot clock seem obsolete. It wasn't until mid-way through the first half that both teams settled down and it would be the Express that would take the upper hand. Tied 17-17, the Express would go on a 9-2 run, sparked by a Dave Foltz 3-pointer, opening a slim seven point lead. The Express would continue to pressure and enter the break up ten, 42-32.

The Express offense continued to click in the second half, opening up a 19 point lead with seven minutes remaining before closing out with the 23 point victory.

The Express return to action next against Hamilton College on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 4 p.m. in Clinton.
