MEN'S BASKETBALL ANNOUNCES 2011-2012 SCHEDULE

AURORA, N.Y. - The Wells College Department of Athletics has announced the 2011-2012 men's basketball schedule. The schedule includes ten home games and 15 away games. The Express open their season on Tuesday, Nov. 15 when they welcome Hartwick College to campus for an 8 p.m. tip-off.

The Express will also be partaking in two tournaments in the first half of the season. On Friday, Nov. 18 the Express open up game one of the 2011 Oswego State Max Ziel Tournament against Fredonia State at 4 p.m. in Oswego, before taking on host Oswego State College on Saturday at 8 p.m. -- in a rematch of last year's first-round NCAA tournament match-up.


The following weekend (Nov. 26 & 27), the Express travel to Rochester to partake in the four team (Alleghany College, Elmira College, U. of Rochester, Wells College) University of Rochester Tournament.


On Dec. 8 the Express will begin the defense of their North Eastern Athletic Conference crown when they open conference play against Cazenovia College at 5 p.m. in Cazenovia.


The Express return for their second half of the season when they welcome Ithaca College to town on Dec. 30 with the game set for a 4 p.m. tip-off. Wells then hits the road for their third tournament of the year when they travel to Schenectady to take part in the Sig Makofski Tournament hosted by Union College on Jan. 2 and 3. The Express will join Hamilton College, Roger Williams, and Union College in the tournament.


The Express close out their regular season with 14 conference games in hopes of returning to the NEAC tournament for a fourth straight year on Feb. 18.
