MEN'S BASKETBALL ROLLS PAST GALLAUDET

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Wells College men's basketball team scored 45 points in the first half and would lead by as many as 20 points in the second half en route to a 78-64 rout of the Gallaudet University Bisons in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Sunday afternoon in Washington D.C. The win snaps a six game losing streak for the Express who improves to 5-10 (2-3 NEAC), while the Bison's fall to 7-8 (5-2 NEAC).

The Express finished the day with four different players in double-figures. Dave Foltz (Auburn, N.Y.) led the Express with 15 points, EJ Taylor (Tampa Bay, Fla.) added 14 points, Terry Harrison (Brooklyn, N.Y.) notched his tenth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Andre Sawyers (Bronx, N.Y.) chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Brandon McMillan finished with a team high 18 points, Tony Tatum added 16 points and Layton Seeber finished with 12 points and ten rebounds for the Bisons.

Trailing 9-7 early in the first half Taylor drained a three, sparking a 10-0 run by the Express. The Bison's pulled back within four mid-way through the first half but that would be as close as the Bison's would come.

The Express continued to pour it on, outscoring the Bison's 14-3 over the next six minutes to take a commanding 43-25 lead before heading into the break up 45-32.

A 3-pointer from Foltz started the second half and the Express were off once again extending their lead to 20-points less than five minutes into play. Gallaudet cut the lead to ten (60-50) with 10:41 to play, but Wells would not let them back in the game. Luke Thomas (Kernersville, N.C.) nailed two straight 3-pointers and buckets from Sawyers, Corey Lewis (Plattsburg, N.Y.), and Jon Bonds (Chicago, Ill.) helped the Express push their lead back to 19, a deficit the Bison's would not overcome.

Wells finished 43.9 percent from the floor including 10 of 29 from behind the arc, while committing a season low 11 turnovers.

Gallaudet shot 46.2 percent from the floor but finished just 3-11 from behind the arc, while being forced into 21 turnovers.

Wells returns to action next on Wednesday when they take on NEAC opponent Keuka College at 5 p.m. in Keuka Park, N.Y.
