EXPRESS ROLL PAST WILDCATS ON SENIOR DAY

AURORA, N.Y.Terry Harrison (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led four different Express seniors in double figures with 24 points and seven rebounds as the Wells College men's basketball team cruised to a 90-74 victory over the SUNY IT Wildcats on the men's basketball senior day in Aurora. The Express have now won six straight, improving to 13-11 (10-4 NEAC) while the Wildcats fall to 5-18 (4-9 NEAC).

Mike Dicampli (Geneva, N.Y.) shot 5-7 from long range to finish with 15 points, Andre Sawyers (Bronx, N.Y.) added 15 points and eight rebounds, and Dave Foltz (Auburn, N.Y.) chipped in with 14 points to lead the Express. Senior Patrick Arancio (Clinton, N.Y.) was also honored with Harrison, Dicampli, Sawyers, and Foltz in a cermony before the start of the game.

Tied 2-2 early in the first half, Dicampli went off from behind the arc, hitting three 3-pointers in a span of three minutes, while lay-ups by Harrison and Foltz quickly pushed the Express lead to 12 (21-9) with 14:32 to play in the half.

The Wildcats used a 9-2 run to cut the lead to five (23-18) but a jumper by Foltz and a 3-pointer from EJ Taylor (Tampa Bay, Fla.) quickly doubled the Express lead to 10 before Taylor's second trey of the half extended the Express lead to 13 (35-22).

Despite the deficit, the Wildcats rallied late on a three from Sejad Gromlic to cut the lead to six (49-43) heading into the break.

A quick jumper by T'Andre Richardson (Utica, N.Y.) to start the second half pulled SUNY IT to within four, but jumpers by Foltz, and two free-throws by Sawyers extended the Express lead back to 10 less than two minutes into play.

The Wildcats would cut the lead to six (66-60) mid-way through the second but it would be far too little to match the Express fire power.  The Express quickly went on a 6-0 run to push their lead back to 12 before a fast break lay-up by Sawyers, two free-throws from Harrison, another bucket by Sawyers and Dicampli's fifth triple of the afternoon ballooned the Express lead to an insurmountable 21 points (87-66) with 1:56 remaining.

The Express were red hot all afternoon, finishing 31-59 (52%) from the field including 7-18 from long range while taking advantage from the free throw line finishing 21-25 (84%). The Express also held the advantage on the glass 39-30.

Richardson paced the Wildcats with a team high 22 points while Derek Rowe (Mexico, N.Y.) added 14 points and seven rebounds. SUNY IT shot 43.1 percent from the floor including 3-10 from behind the arc and 15-23 from the foul line.

The victory not only marks the final regular season home game for the first four year class of the Wells men's basketball team but, the teams two victories this past weekend also clinches the Express' fourth straight NEAC tournament appearance.

The defending NEAC Champions claimed sole possession of the second seed in the NEAC North Division and will await seeding for the post-season tournament to be released by the conference on Sunday, Feb. 19.

The Express will close out their regular season schedule on Saturday, Feb. 18 when they travel to take on Keuka College at 1 p.m. in Keuka Park, N.Y.
