Wells Men's Basketball Falls In Naples Shootout Game

The Wells College men's basketball team returned to action with a neutral-site game against Connecticut College at the Naples Shootout in Naples, Fla. Connecticut College pulled away in the second half and won 82-68 on Saturday, Dec. 29.

Three players scored in double figures for the Express, led by Rich Ross with 29 points, a season-best scoring performance for Ross. Jalen Tribble scored 13 points and A.J. Nesci added 10 points.

Wells trailed by 10 early in the first half, but rallied to pull within two points at the break. Ross scored 15 points in the first half.

The game was tied 35-35 in the second half before Connecticut College went on a 26-11 run to seize control of the contest. The largest lead for the Camels was 20 points.

Connecticut College held a 46-35 rebounding advantage including 16 offensive rebounds.

Ross made five 3-pointers in the game. He has scored in double-figures in all eight games for the Express. Tribble and Ross each had nine rebounds.

Wells returns to the Naples court Sunday, Dec. 30 against Suffolk University at 7 p.m.
