First-Place Morrisville Pulls Away From Men's Basketball

The Wells College men's basketball team challenged first-place Morrisville State College over the first 20 minutes but the Mustangs pulled away in the second half for a 77-46 victory over Wells on Friday, Jan. 18 at the Schwartz Athletic Center.

Morrisville State built a 24-14 lead in the first half but Wells answered with an 8-2 run to pull within four points. The Mustangs stretched their advantage to 13 points for their largest first-half lead and it was 40-30 in Morrisville State's favor at halftime.

Morrisville State started the second half on a 19-3 run and went on to the victory.

A.J. Nesci had nine points and four assists. Dylan Frost had eight points. Joe Stoj led Wells with eight rebounds and Jalen Tribble had seven points.

Wells will be back in action Wednesday, Jan. 23 at SUNY Cobleskill.
