Men’s Basketball All-Decade Team

The Wells College 2020 All-Decade Team in men's basketball comprises student-athletes that participated during the winter seasons between 2010-11 and 2019-20. Because the program only dates back to a few seasons prior to the 2010-11 season, any student-athlete that played during the 2010 calendar year was granted consideration.*

The 2020 All-Decade team includes (alphabetically) with completed seasons in parenthesis: Chris Courntey (2013-14 through 2016-17), Dave Foltz (2010-11, 2011-12), Darrell Bullock (2008-09, 2009-10), Terry Harrison (2010-11, 2011-12), Al Paul (2012-13, 2013-14), Juan Paulino (2008-09, 2009-10), Rich Ross (2015-16 through 2018-19), Andre Sawyers (2008-09 through 2011-12), E.J. Taylor (2011-12, 2012-13) and  Jalen Tribble (2017-18 through 2019-20).

Two players that finished their careers during the 2010 calendar year were perhaps the best 1-2 tandem in the NEAC during their two seasons and both pursued professional basketball careers after Wells. Bullock and Paulino achieved all-conference during their two seasons with Wells and led the team to the NEAC championship game during the team's first two years. They alternated the team's most valuable award with Bullock earning it in the team's first season and Paulino in the team's second season. Paulino took the college's male athlete of the year that season as well and finished his Wells career with 718 points, 708 rebounds, 115 assists, 111 blocks and 72 steals. During the 2009-10 season, Paulino finished first nationally in field goal percentage (.701), first nationally in rebounds-per-game (16.5), and 14th nationally in blocked shots per game (2.6). Paulino led the NEAC in rebounds-per-game and field-goal percentage in both his seasons at Wells. During the 2009-10 season, he averaged six more rebounds than the next closest conference player. Bullock finished with 1,010 points, 211 rebounds, 178 assists and 95 steals. He led the NEAC in points-per-game his first season and finished fourth in the conference his second season. Joining Bullock and Paulino in helping Wells become the fastest NCAA Division III men's basketball team to reach 20 victories in a year was Sawyers, who finished with 641 points and 466 rebounds and was a member of the 2011 NEAC championship team.

Harrison and Foltz joined the program during the 2010-11 season. Foltz took one all-conference selection and finished his career at Wells with 663 points, 205 rebounds, 189 assists and 116 steals over two seasons. In his first season he finished fourth in assists and fifth in 3-point percentage in the NEAC, while placing second in steals the following season. Harrison is a two-time Wells College male athlete of the year, two-time most valuable player and two-time all-conference selection. He was the NEAC Tournament MVP during Wells' championship season and finished first in the conference in points and rebounds that season. He finished with 948 points, 494 rebounds, 127 assists, 115 steals and 52 blocks over two seasons.

During the next three seasons after the team's NEAC championship, three other all-decade selections were added to the roster in successive years. Taylor came on board during the 2011-12 season, Paul during the 2012-13 season, and Courntey during the 2013-14 season. Taylor received one all-conference honor and finished with 621 points, 168 rebounds, 79 steals and 68 assists over two seasons. He was the team's most valuable during the 2012-13 season when he finished second in the conference in points and eighth in steals. Paul also received one all-conference selection and was the team's most valuable in 2013-14. He finished with 505 points, 203 rebounds, 58 assists and 37 steals. Courntey finished sixth in the conference in 3-point percentage during the 2016-17 season and ended his career at nearly a 38 percent rate beyond the arc. Of his 791 career points, 315 came by way of threes. He also recorded 211 rebounds, 158 assists and 80 steals.

The remaining two players on the all-decade team are Ross and Tribble. Tribble played three seasons with his final year just last season. He finished with 732 points, 469 rebounds, 77 blocks, 74 assists and 64 steals. He finished in the conference's top-10 in rebounds and blocks in both of his final two seasons and ended the decade as the team's most valuable. Ross is the only player to receive all-conference four times and was the college's male athlete of the year. He was named NEAC rookie of the year his first season when he was second in points and 13th in rebounds for the conference. The following year, he finished second in points, 12th in steals and 13th in rebounds. His junior season, he was eighth in points and 11th in his final season.
