HAWKS SOAR PAST EXPRESS

(Oneonta, N.Y.)─ The Hartwick College Hawks led 11-1 after two quarters and never looked back en route to a 17-4 victory over the Wells College men's lacrosse team on Tuesday afternoon in Oneonta, N.Y. Dan Munsell and Kylan Hallett each tallied two goals to lead the Express. Harry Hughes paced the Hawks with three goals and three assists. The loss drops the Express to 2-2 on the season, while the Hawks improve to 5-2 on the year.
 
Hartwick held the advantage in shots 48-17 and groundballs 51-26, while finishing 20 of 25 on the faceoff. Wells finished 11 of 14 on the clear.
 
Hartwick scored the game's first 11 goals, holding the Express scoreless through the first quarter and well into the second until Munsell found the back of the net with 40-seconds remaining to play before the half.
 
The Hawks continued their offensive surge in the second half and would eventually finish with 12 different scorers.
 
Chris Burger led the Express in groundball with five, while Forrest Lambert finished 4 groundballs. Kyle Brimm took the loss in net, finishing with 14 saves.
 
Nate Triano earned the win in net for the Hawks finishing with seven saves.
 
The Express return to action next on Saturday, March 26 when the travel to Penn. St. Abington to take on the Nittany Lions at 3 p.m. in Abington, Pa.
