Hallinan's 21-Save Performance Helps Men's Lax Win

Wells College men's lacrosse goalie Nick Hallinan made a season-best 21 saves and Alex Milliken scored six goals as the Express picked up its second conference win of the season with an 11-6 victory over SUNY Polytechnic Institute on Wednesday, April 19 at the Wells Turf Field.

Wells improved its record to 3-6 on the year with a 2-3 record in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. SUNY Poly is 3-10 overall and 2-4 in the NEAC. It is the first Wells win over SUNY Poly in the 10-year program history of Wells men's lacrosse.

The Express started the game by scoring the first three goals and led 4-1 after the first quarter. Brady Hoose and Alex Milliken scored in the second quarter as the Express built its lead to 6-2 at halftime. SUNY Poly scored the first goal of the second half, but Wells scored four in a row to take its largest lead at 10-3 early in the fourth quarter.

In addition to Alex Milliken's six goals, Hoose scored twice and Ian Domon, Aaron Heisey, and Tanner Mingen scored once each. Hoose had three assists to go with his two goals.

Hallinan made 21 saves and allowed just six goals for the Express. Seven of his saves came in the fourth quarter to help Wells secure the victory.

Tanner Mingen led Wells with eight ground balls.

Wells is back in action Saturday, with a road game at Hilbert College at noon.
