Bayly Collects NEAC Defensive Student-Athlete Of The Week Honors

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Goaltender C.J. Bayly (Waymart, Pa.) of the Wells College men's soccer team collected North Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the period running from Friday, Aug. 31 to Sunday, Sept. 9, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Bayly, a junior, led the Express to a 3-2 record to start the season, allowing just five goals on 32 shots on net for a 1.07 goals-against average. His .844 save percentage and 27 total saves are currently tops in the conference, as are his two shutouts. Additionally, he carried a shutout streak spanning four games and 251:29 minutes, starting on Sept. 1 and ending on Sept. 9.

This past week, Bayly posted shutouts against the Hawks of Hilbert College on Sept. 5 and, most recently, the Nittany Lions of Penn State Berks. Including the two shutouts, Bayly now has eight for his career. As a team, the Express have posted a 3-2 overall record with Bayly between the pipes – they have also allowed the second fewest goals (5) while receiving the second most corner kicks (25) and firing the most shots of any team (92).
