Men’s Soccer Silenced By Morrisville State, 1-0

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Despite matching their opponent's total of nine shots, the Wells College men's soccer team was unable to convert an opportunity as they posted a 1-0 loss to the Mustangs of Morrisville State College Saturday evening. With the loss, the Express fall to .500 (7-7, 4-4 NEAC) for the first time dating back to Saturday, Sept. 15. The Mustangs improve to 12-4-1 overall and to 7-1-1 within league play.

Sanley Pierre-Louis scored the game's lone goal in the 28th minute, firing a Jacob Chase pass inside the post and eluding the grasp of Express goalkeeper C.J. Bayly (Waymart, Pa.) to take the lead. Pierre-Louis led all Mustangs with four shots on goal, accounting for 66% of his team's scoring chances.

Bayly (6-8) draws his eighth loss of the season, turning aside 5-of-6 shots on goal. Morrisville State goaltender Rob Larkin (10-4-1) reaches a double-digit win total, earning his 10th victory of the year by halting all five shots on net.

Wells College has lost their prior three contests for only the first time all season. The last time the Express have posted three straight defeats came last season, a six game skid that spanned from Oct. 1, 2011 to Oct. 26, 2011.

The Express return to action Wednesday, Oct. 24 as they face-off against Cazenovia College on the road at 3:30 p.m. Stay up to date with the latest news directly from the Wells College athletic department by "liking" us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/WellsExpress) and subscribing to our Twitter account (http://www.twitter.com/WellsExpress).
