PHILADELPHIA – Despite both teams combining for 23 total shots, the Wells College men's soccer team played the Nittany Lions of Penn St.-Abington to a 0-0 double overtime draw Saturday afternoon. With the tie, Wells' overall record stands at 7-4-3 while the Nittany Lions (10-3-1) picked up only their first tie of the season – within North Eastern Athletic Conference play, the Nittany Lions remain undefeated (6-0-1) in league play while the Express drew their third tie (2-1-3) against conference foes.
Wells posted four shots in both the first and second halves while the hosts blasted five shots in each stanza. After a silent first overtime period, Wells held a 3-to-2 advantage in shots in the second overtime but all of the Express' second overtime shots sailed wide.
For the Express, goalkeeper C.J. Bayly (Waymart, Pa.) tabulated four saves through 110 minutes of play. Dan Saint-Pol, the keeper for Penn St.-Abington, turned aside both shots on net that he faced.
Wells returns to action Sunday, Oct. 20 as they face-off with the Nittany Lions of Penn St.-Berks in a noontime contest.
