Keuka Storms Past Men's Soccer, 3-0

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College men's soccer team lost a 3-0 contest to the visiting Wolfpack of Keuka College on Saturday at the South Athletic Field. The Express, who defeated Keuka by a 4-0 margin on the road in 2013, fall to 2-3-1 on the young season while Keuka (4-1) leads the North Eastern Athletic Conference with a 2-0 league record.

Keuka scored back-to-back goals only three minutes apart in the first half as Paulin Kolodja's first strike of the season preceded a Ben Schreiber goal at 32:07 to capture a 2-0 lead. Kolodja was able to get behind the Wells defense, tapping home a through ball from right to left for the first strike while Schreiber followed with a similar strike.

Wells, who trailed in shots by an 8-to-4 margin, rallied to post seven of the second half's 10 total shots but a goal from Austin Gerber in the 77th minute added extra insurance for Keuka. The Express fired 11 total shots in the tilt, but placed only three on cage.

Sophomore Michael Sciotti (North Syracuse, N.Y.) made three saves on six total shots. Keuka netminder Preston Vick halted all three shots on net that he faced.

The Express return to action Wednesday, Sept. 17 as they face-off against Oswego State University at 4 p.m.
