The Wells College men's soccer team went on the road to wrap up the non-conference portion of its schedule and lost 7-2 at the University of Rochester on Saturday, Sept. 23. Rochester is ranked seventh in the East Region in the latest United Soccer Coaches regional rankings.

Rochester built a 3-0 lead in the first half, but Wells responded and scored in the 37th minute when Junger Vargas crossed a pass from the right wing and Kevin Schrank ran on and slotted a low shot inside the right post from six yards out.

Vargas then scored an unassisted goal in the second half. His shot from the left wing to the far corner in the 61st minute brought Wells within 3-2. Rochester closed the match with four goals in the final 22 minutes. It was the team-leading third goal of the year for Vargas.

Wells goalkeeper Owen May made three saves in the first half. Cam Davis played the second half and made seven saves.
