Men's Soccer Players Earn All-NEAC Honors

Two members of the Wells College men's soccer team earned postseason awards as the North Eastern Athletic Conference announced its 2017 all-conference teams and individual honors. Sophomore forward Junger Vargas was voted by conference coaches to the All-NEAC Second Team and senior defender Jim Duchesneau was named to the All-NEAC Third Team.

Vargas, a sophomore from Islip, N.Y., earned his first-career all-conference honor. He led Wells with 10 goals and 23 points. He ranked third among all NEAC players in goals and sixth in the conference in points. He was NEAC Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 2.

Duchesneau, a senior from South Glastonbury, Conn., made the all-conference teams for the second year in a row. He was previously voted to the All-NEAC Third Team as a junior in 2016. A three-year starter on defense, Duchesneau started all 16 games on defense for the Express in 2017. He scored one goal.

The Wells College men's soccer program finished the 2017 season with a 4-11-1 overall record and 3-7-0 record in NEAC games.
