Road Win For Men's Soccer At Hilbert

The Wells College men's soccer team picked up its second victory of the season with a 2-1 road victory at Hilbert College on Saturday, Sept. 7. Second-half goals from Justin Butler and Dawson Gerdon keyed the Wells victory.

Wells held a 16-4 advantage in shots in a scoreless opening half. The Express broke through with two goals in an eight-minute span of the second half. Justin Butler scored an unassisted goal in the 52nd minute, his second goal of the season, to put Wells in front. In the 60th minute, Christian Garavito set up Dawson Gerdon for his first-career collegiate goal and Wells led 2-0.

Hilbert scored in the final minute of the second half to account for the final score.

Colton Jaquith started in goal for Wells and made two saves in the first half. Kingsley Ehling played the second half and had three saves with one goal allowed.

Wells is back home Tuesday, Sept. 10 with a 4:30 p.m. home game against D'Youville College.
