MONACHINO NAMED SAAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Aurora, New York – Freshmen men's swimmer Anthony Monachino was recently named SAAC Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 18th. In the Express' first meet of the season at the  Hartwick Relay, Monachino set top ten times in the 100 Butterfly, 50 free and 200 free relay, while leading the men's team to its first victory in team history over Cazenovia College and finishing 4 out 5 teams at the relay.

From Rochester, NY, Monachino is looking to major in math, physics, or computer science, but being just a freshmen he has yet to make a decision.

Between school work and swimming Monachino has learned quickly the benefits of time management. "At the end of the day I have maybe three hours to myself. Being on the swim team has helped me focus on my school work and learn to use my time effectively. The study tables we have on the team have been really beneficial. My teammates are a quick reference for any questions I might have in my classes and a few may have even taken the same class," said Monachino.

Monachino and the rest of Wells College swim team will host their first home meet on November 12th against Utica College starting at 6:00 pm.
