The Wells College swimming teams opened up their 2008-2009 season on Saturday afternoon at the Hartwick Relays. The men's swim team defeated their first opponent ever in competition, placing fourth on the day, and defeating Cazenovia College.  The women placed 5 out of 5 at the relays.

Individually it was a strong day for the men's team. Anthony Monachino set the 2nd fastest and fifth fastest times in the 100 Meter Fly and 50 Freestyle. While the 200 Free Relay team, swam by Monachino, Chris Guard, McDonald Morris, and Drew Teter, set the second fastest time in men's history (1:46.49). The 400 free men's relay team, swam by Morris, Guard, Kristopher Bradt, and Justin Zehr, set the third fastest time in school history (4:38.10).

The two swim team's next meet will be held at SUNY Brockport on Thursday, October 30th at 5:00pm.
