MEN'S SWIMMING DEFEATS CAZENOVIA

Aurora, N.Y.– The Wells College men's swimming team took first in eight of eleven events as they cruised to the 57-32 victory over the Cazenovia College Wildcats on Saturday afternoon at Wells. Jeffrey Dick (Albion, N.Y.), Drew Teter (Campbell, N.Y.), and Michael Scharvella (Craryville, N.Y.) each had two first place finishes to lead the Express men.

Dick took first in the men's 200 Yard IM (2:18.74) and the men's 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:08.93). Teter placed first in the men's 200 and 100 Yard Freestyle with time of 2:01.98 and 54.16 respectively, while Scharvella placed first in the men's 50 Yard Freestyle (25.54) and men's 500 Yard Freestyle (6:00.29). Rounding out the men's action was Daniel Schilling (Centerport, N.Y.) with a first place finish in the men's 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:03.74.

In women's action the Express fell to William Smith College 50-42 and to Cazenovia 56-37. Gwen Lillie (Potsdam, N.Y.) paced the Express with the lone first place finish over Cazenovia in the women's 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:31.15.

The Express return to the pool on Saturday, February 6, as they travel to Cazenovia College for day one of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championship; a time for the meet has yet to be determined.
