Heil Earns NEAC Men's Swimmer of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Freshman Austin Heil (Medina, N.Y.) of the Wells College men's swimming program has been selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week after a solid performance for the Express in its season opener on Saturday.

At the Hartwick Relays in Oneonta, N.Y., Heil got off to a fast start in his collegiate debut, competing in three events for Wells. Leading off the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, Heil's 100 Yard Freestyle time of 56.36 proved to be the 10th-fastest time recorded by any swimmer in program history.

Heil is the first weekly award winner from Wells since Alex Lamphear '15 on Feb. 3, 2015. He is also the first freshman to win the award since current teammate Patrick Munroe (Williamsville, N.Y.) on Dec. 3, 2012.

Wells welcomes Oswego State University to Aurora next Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m.
