Men's Swimming Defeated By Buffalo State, 86-33

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College men's swimming program fell to visiting Buffalo State College by an 86-33 margin at the Wells College Aquatic Center. Wells falls to 1-6 overall on the year while the Bengals earn their first victory of the year with Saturday's result.

A strong time of 1:41.96 in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay earned Wells its lone first place finish of the afternoon. The foursome of junior Lucas Donnenwirth (Frankfort, N.Y.), freshman Jordan Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.), sophomore Owen May (Warsaw, N.Y.) and freshman Austin Heil (Medina, N.Y.) narrowly missed cracking the All-Wells Top 10 list.

As an individual, Heil earned two second place finishes, falling only .46 seconds short of a first place finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle (24.79) before touching the wall in 54.11 in the 100 Yard Freestyle.

The men's swimming team returns to action Saturday, Jan. 16 as it travels to Pitt.-Bradford for a 1 p.m. meet.
