Heil Wins NEAC Men's Swimmer of the Week Award

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – For the second-straight week, freshman Austin Heil (Medina, N.Y.) of the Wells College men's swimming program has won North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week after an outstanding performance against Pitt.-Bradford on Saturday.

Heil collected two first place finishes against the Panthers, completing the 50 Yard Freestyle in 24.66 seconds and touching the wall in 54.34 seconds in the 100 Yard Freestyle. His 50 Yard Freestyle time was a personal-best while his 100 Yard event trailed his top time by only .23 seconds.

He also joined freshman Jordan Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.), junior Keith Davenport (Weedsport, N.Y.) and sophomore Owen May (Warsaw, N.Y.) for the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, combining to tie the ninth-fastest time in team history after finishing in 3:51.98, which earned them first-place points while finishing second out of the four teams competing in the day's final event.

At present, Heil's 50 Yard Freestyle time of 24.66 stands as the eighth-fastest in team history while his time of 54.11 (set against Buffalo St. on Jan. 9 of this season) in the 100 Yard Freestyle is the fourth-best in program history.
