Home-Opening Meet For Men's Swimming

The Wells College men's swimming team hosted its first home meet of the season and lost by a score of 59-29 to Oswego State.

Freshman Caleb Evans cracked the Wells College record boards in his dual-meet debut for the Express. He placed second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:09.74, which is the 10th-fastest time for Wells. In the 200-yard backstroke, Evans clocked 2:32.39 which is eighth-best in program history.

Ian Ronan was second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.68 and Arthur Brooks was third in the 100 breast in 1:17.18. In the 200-yard individual medley, Ronan was third in 2:33.25 and Brooks was fourth in 2:36.49.

Aaron Connolly was third in the 50-yard freestyle in 28.67 seconds and second in the 100 free in 1:04.93.

Brandon Sprague was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 13:06.23 and second in the 500 free in 6:33.81.

Richard Ford was second in the 200-yard freestyle and third in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:22.04.

Shawn Snell took second in the 100 fly in 1:17.03.

It was the first dual-meet event of the year for Wells, which opened its season at an all-relay meet at Cortland. The Express is back in action Saturday, Nov. 4 at Utica College.
