Men's Swimming Shows Strongly In Three-Team Meet

The Wells College men's swimming team won a home dual meet by an 89-27 score against SUNY Cobleskill and lost a narrow 77-72 final against Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Schwartz Athletic Center.

Wells took a total of three event wins.

The Express swam unopposed and times in at 2:21.67 in the 200-yard medley relay with Bennett Ervin, Aaron Connolly, Richard Ford, and Jose Ramirez in action.

Connolly claimed a pair of individual-event wins. He was first in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:49.27 and won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:41.78. Connolly was also second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:15.39.

Ramirez was second in the 100-yard backstroke and in the 200-yard backstroke.

Ford placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:42.08, and second in the 200 IM in 2:46.32. He was third in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:25.18.

Ervin placed third in the 100-yard freestyle.

Wells closed the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay by Ervin, Joshua Rose, Andrew Cao, and Jose Ramirez.

After a holiday break, Wells will have another three-team meet on Jan. 12 at Buffalo State, with Pitt Bradford also joining the event.
