Dual-Meet Win For Wells Men's Swimming

The Wells College men's swimming team earned a dual-meet victory at SUNY Delhi on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Wells won 277-261 and four different swimmers combined to win seven individual events in the meet. It was the second dual-meet victory of the year for Wells.

Wells started with an unopposed victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:08.25 by Brandon Sprague, Aaron Connolly, Richie Ford, and Bennett Ervin.

Connolly went on to win first-place in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:39.53 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:15.51.

Sprague swept the distance freestyle events with a win in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 13:43.41 and the 500 free in 6:52.39.

Ervin returned to the lineup and claimed victories in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:04.27 and the 200 free in 2:23.32.

Ford was first in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:17.72 and was second in the 200 IM in 2:48.40.

Wells is back in action Saturday, Jan. 26 with a meet against Cazenovia College hosted by William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y.
