Men’s Swimming Team Finish Third after First Day of NEAC Championships

COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University men's swimming team leads after the first day of the 2020 North Athletic Conference (NEAC) Swimming & Diving Championships, which is hosted this year by SUNY Cobleskill.

Gallaudet University used the same method as the Wells women's swimmers to secure their lead in the men's standings with 205 points with solid core group of finishes with second and third place finishes. The Bison are 33 points up on SUNY Cobleskill, who is in second. Wells (13 points) and Cazenovia (12) complete the four-team field.

The best finish for Wells came in the 50-yard freestyle. Vincent Chen recorded a time of 24.81 for second place. Chen's time was .07 shy of cracking the Wells College top-10 list in that event.

SUNY Cobleskill picked up the most wins on Friday with nine, including sweeps of the 200-yard free relays, 50-yard freestyle, and the 400-yard medley relays.

The second day of competition gets underway at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15 with preliminaries. Finals will start at 6 p.m.
