SHUMKSI LEADS WELLS AT OSWEGO ST. INVITATIONAL

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Wells College men's cross country team placed 11th out of 12 teams with 307 points at the Oswego State 8K Invitational held at Oswego State University on Saturday afternoon in Oswego. Overall five runners completed the 8K race for the Express.

Brayden Shumski (Everrett, Wash./Cascade) led the Express placing 38th out of 148 runners with a time of 29:11.51. Evando Nascimento (Geneva, Switzerland) crossed the finish line in 94th with a time of 33:10.5. Bryant Sanders (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) placed 99th with a time of 33:32.70. Tony Petri (East Middlebury, Vt./Middlebury Union) finished 109th with a time of 34:27.75 while Tim Lambert (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) crossed the finish line in 134th with a time of 37:40.55.

Ithaca College took first overall with 34 points. Utica placed second with 47 points, while host Oswego State placed third with 78 points. Connor Cashin, of SUNY Cobleskill, earned the top individual spot with a time of 26:40.15.

The Express will run next in the Hobart College Invitational on Saturday, September 17 at 11:00 am in Geneva, N.Y.
