Men’s Cross Country Competes At SUNYIT Wildcat Invitational

MARCY, N.Y. – Led by senior Brayden Shumski (Everett, Wash.), the Wells College men's cross country team placed 10th in the 16 team field at the sixth annual SUNYIT Wildcat Invitational held Saturday afternoon. As a team, the Express earned 226 points to earn 10th place. The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry posted 38 points, claiming first place among the participating schools.

Shumski placed 20th overall amongst the field, posting a time of 21:28.1 in the 6K race. Stephen Armstrong (Erin, N.Y.) and Thomas Dougherty (Riverside, Conn.) placed 53rd and 54th, respectively, to round out the top three finishers for the Express. Armstrong completed his run with a time of 22:43.7 while Dougherty wrapped up his day with a time of 22:44.9.

Sophomore Paul Hernon (New Hartford, N.Y.) placed 71st with a time of 23:39.5 while senior Tim Lambert (Clay, N.Y.) finished with a time of 25:06.1, cracking the top-100 runners to place 94th.

Sophomore Andrew Judson (Court Gambrillis, Md.) placed 117th in the field of 147 runners, finishing with a time of 26:58.2. Senior Tony Petri (East Middlebury, Vt.) finished just behind Judson, completing the course with a time of 26:58.2.  Freshman Zach Tripsas (Elka Park, N.Y.) and junior Michael Lynch (New Hartford, N.Y.) posted time of 30:50.8 and 30:56.5, respectively, while freshman Andrew Eiffert posted a time of 31:28.0 to round out the Express runners.
