Men’s Cross Country Competes In Yellow Jacket Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior captain Brayden Shumski (Everett, Wash.) finished in 203rd place, leading the Wells College men's cross country team to a 22nd place finish Saturday afternoon at the University of Rochester Yellow Jacket Invitational at Genesee Valley Park. With only 15 points, Cornell University placed first as a team in the 8K race to sweep the afternoon as the women's team also finished first in their 6K race.

Shumski finished 203rd out of 333 competing individuals and led the team with a 5:42 mile pace. Freshman Stephen Armstrong (Erin, N.Y.) completed the course in 29:44.3, pacing himself with a 5:59 mile time. Sophomore Thomas Dougherty (Riverside, Conn.) ran the course in 30:37.5, placing 291st as an individual and ranking third on the Express.

Sophomore Paul Hernon (New Hartford, N.Y.) placed 297th with a time of 30:49.6 while senior Tim Lambert (Clay, N.Y.) finished with a time of 33:11.6, placing 316th. Sophomore Andrew Judson (Court Gambrillis, Md.) placed 324th in the field, completing his afternoon with a time of 35:03.2.
