Men's Cross Country Captures Sixth At SUNY Cortland Invitational

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Senior captain Brayden Shumski (Everett, Wash.) led the Express with a time of 20:55.90 as the Wells College men's cross country team posted a sixth place finish at the SUNY Cortland XC Jack Daniels Shoot-Out Saturday afternoon. With 15 points, SUNY Cortland captured first place in the 6K race.

Shumski finished 26th out of 105 participants with his time. Freshman Stephen Armstrong (Erin, N.Y.) completed the course in 21:30.60 while Paul Hernon (New Hartford, N.Y.) finished with a time of 21:30.60 to place 74th. Sophomore Thomas Dougherty (Riverside, Conn.) finished one place behind Hernon, turning in a time of 22:45.00.

Three separate Express runners finished within five spots of each other as Tony Petri (East Middlebury, Vt.), Tim Lambert (Clay, N.Y.) and Andrew Judson (Court Gambrillis, Md.) finished 80th, 82nd, and 85th, respectively. Petri posted a time of 23:53.60 while Lambert completed his run with a time of 24:37.10. Judson rounded out the pack with a time of 25:38.10.

Zach Tripsas (Elka Park, N.Y.) and Andrew Eiffert (Canandaigua, N.Y.) finished with times of 28:21.60 and 30:15.40, respectively.
